About Us

CPPC was formed in 1990 by a small number of Chartered Physiotherapists specialising in the assessment and treatment of urinary incontinence.

They started meeting twice yearly and running study days open to members and non members alike. Since that time, membership has steadily grown so that there are now almost 200 members country wide. Members now also specialise in ano-rectal problems and female and male pelvic floor dysfunction.

CPPC is a recognised Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Clinical Interest Group and has representation on the Clinical Interest Group and Occupational Groups Liaison Committee at the CSP.

Membership is open to any registered physiotherapist interested in promoting continence.

We aim to promote continence by providing a forum for education, discussion, information and development and by facilitating the interchange of knowledge, skills and ideas between ourselves and other healthcare professionals. Of central importance is the ethos of Continuing Professional Development and research, and to this end, we host our own study days, provide educational awards, and strongly encourage and support our members in their pursuit of clinical excellence.
