Chairman: Annette Woodward - annette.woodward@heartofengland.nhs.uk

Annette leads a Women's Health Physiotherapy service and is a Clinical Specialist in Continence management with an extended scope role treating both men and women.

She has worked at Birmingham Heartlands and Solihull Hospital (now Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust) for over 30 years. Having completed the ACPWH Continence course in 1995 she has taken a number of courses, both in continence and general management and is involved with continence education both within and outside the Trust.

Over time, she has continued to expand and develop continence services both within the Acute Trust and across the health economy.

Vice Chair: Vera MacPherson

Vera has practiced as a physiotherapist since qualifying in 1978 from The Coventry School of Physiotherapy/ Lanchester Polytechnic. She developed a keen interest in Womens Health while doing locum cover for a colleague. She has now worked in this area for more than 11 years and is currently Clinical Specialist/Team Leader at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. Working only in this secondary care setting, her special interests are Gynae and Bladder and Bowel Dysfunction.

Website Manager and Fit for Life Champion for CPPC: Kay Crotty

Kay has been working in the continence field for 8 years in addition to continuing her musculoskeletal work as a private practitioner and private provider to her local PCT. She completed the UEL Continence course in 2002, and is currently undertaking an imaging research project leading to a PhD with The University of Hertfordshire and St Markís Hospital Harrow.

Membership Secretary: Kelly Turrall

Kelly has been working in Women's Health physiotherapy for the last seven years. She has worked in large teaching hospitals in London, the Middle East, the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust in the West Midlands, and now at Royal Preston Hopsital. She completed her ACPWH course in 2008 as well as completing many other Women's Health courses. Kelly treats both gynaecological and obstetric conditions.

Lauren Callwood

Qualified in 2005, Lauren began her career at Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust as a rotational physiotherapist, and developed an interest in Womens Health which lead to a static post at Solihull Hospital in 2008. During this time Lauren was mentored and supported by Chairperson Annette Woodward, and fellow committee member Kelly Turrall, and completed the ACPWH ano-rectal course in January 2009. Lauren is now based at the specialist EGA wing of University College London Hospital where she manages a caseload of urogynae, gynae-oncology and postnatal inpatients; and works alongside a multidisciplinary team treating continence, gynae and obstetric outpatients.

Honorary Treasurer: Diane Wootton

Graduating in 1977 with 20 years experience in Women's Health and male and female continence, I have been employed at The Princess Margaret Hospital in Windsor since 1988. Previous employment was in Birmingham and Coventry doing general physiotherapy. More recently I have been instrumental in setting up a member database for continence physiotherapists working within the BMI Healthcare group of hospitals.

Lynda Morgan-Jones

Lynda is a continence physiotherapist working in community based clinics for Derbyshire County PCT. Although the majority of patients referred are female, she also treats men with both urinary and bowel problems. Over the past 12 years she has completed many continence/ women's health courses and in 2008 attained full membership to the ACPWH after gaining a Postgraduate Certificate in Continence for physiotherapists at Bradford University. In 2006 she also became a supplementary prescriber having successfully completed the Non-Medical Prescribing course at Derby University.

Jane Brazendale: Newsletter Editor - jane.brazendale@centrallancashire.nhs.uk

Jane is employed by NHS Central Lancashire as a specialist physiotherapist in Women’s Health. The assessment and management of women presenting with dysfunction of the pelvic floor complex, accounts for a large proportion of her clinical caseload. Jane also enjoys the health promotion and teaching aspects afforded by the post.
